Managing a quest
The quest details page is where you assemble a quest’s missions, upload its banner, schedule it, and, after it finishes, handle payouts. Open it by selecting a quest on the Dashboard.
Tabs
- Details: the quest configuration, its missions, brands, and the Mission Games (the union of every mission’s games).
- Banner: upload the lobby banner. See Banner.
- Participants: the players taking part and their progress.
- Translations: the player-facing text. See Translations.
The Details tab shows Internal Name, Ref. No., Type, Payout (Automatic/Manual), Start Date,
End Date, Base Currency, and Total Prize per Player, followed by the missions list (name, games, target
score, status).
Scheduling a quest
A quest stays in Draft until you schedule it. The Schedule button becomes available only when all of these are met (its tooltip lists them with a check or cross each):
- Start date is in the future.
- At least one mission has been added.
- A prize is configured on the quest.
Scheduling cascades to the missions. They move to Scheduled with the quest. Scheduling shortly before the start time asks for confirmation first.
Editing after creation
Like tournaments, quests and missions lock as they move through their lifecycle. The tables below show which fields and actions are available (Yes), locked (No), or not applicable (n/a) in each status.
Quest
| Field / action | Draft | Scheduled | Active | Finished |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Internal name | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
| Translations (title, summary, terms) | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
| Banner | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
| Start / End date, Base Currency, Auto Payout, Brands, Prize | Yes | Yes | No | No |
| Add mission | Yes | No | No | No |
| Remove / reorder missions | Yes | Yes | No | No |
| Schedule | Yes | n/a | n/a | n/a |
| Cancel | n/a | Yes | Yes | No |
Editing a quest’s brands, dates, or currency while it is still Draft or Scheduled propagates the change to every mission and re-checks that each mission’s games are still valid on the new brands.
Mission
| Field | Draft | Scheduled | Active | Finished |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Internal name | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
| Target score | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
| Title (translations) | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
| Scoring method, Games, Prize | Yes | Yes | No | No |
Once a quest is Active, its schedule, currency, brands, prize, and mission set are fixed. The parameters that affect scoring and payout can no longer change. Plan these before scheduling.
Payouts
Quest and mission prizes follow the shared payout model, set by the quest’s Auto Payout option, which the missions inherit. Because a quest is single-player, every player who completes it is eligible for the same prize, so there is no leaderboard to settle. Unlike a tournament, a quest pays rolling: rewards are settled as players reach each milestone, while the quest is still Active.
- Automatic: as soon as a player meets a mission’s requirement, that mission’s reward is paid, and completing the final mission pays the quest completion reward, all while the quest is still running. The player is rewarded on the spot, without waiting for the quest to finish or having to keep playing.
- Manual: nothing is paid until an administrator approves it, and missions and the quest are approved
separately. Open a mission from the missions list on the Details tab and handle its payouts on that
mission’s Participants tab; the quest completion reward is approved on the quest’s own Participants
tab. Each uses
Approve Payout,Mark as Paid, andRetry Payoutsas described in Payout.
Payout actions require the payout-management permission.
